Job Description

CRISIS HOME NURSE JOB DESCRIPTION QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a licensed registered nurse or a licensed practical nurse. Knowledge and/or experience with mental illness and psychiatric treatment is preferred. Physical health compatible with the demands of the job and completion of a pre-employment medical exam, communicable disease screening and drug screen Two employment and/or character references.
Preferred qualifications for position:
Lived experience with behavioral health issues. Valid drivers license with appropriate driving record suitable for our insurance coverge.
JOB DUTIES
Provide nursing assessments on all residents in crisis home. Develops specific and observable goals, objectives and interventions as well as discharge plans. Provides intensive nursing services designed to alleviate the resident's psychiatric crisis. Oversees self-care protocols in the home: hygiene, sleep patterns, nutrition, exercise, attire, medication regime, and other health related issues, all designed to enhance functioning and self esteem. Encourages generalization of healthy self-care behaviors to the community and the next placement, whenever possible. Schedules appointments with the psychiatrist and any medical appointments the client is unable to schedule for themselves. Attends medication reviews and medical appointments. Monitors the health of the therapeutic milieu. Attend's placement, PCP, clinical, discharge, and staff meetings. Ensures proper medication procedures are followed by all staff (and residents if on a self-administration program). Orders medications for the home. Provides in-service training to home staff on a regular basis in health and medication related areas. Assisting the home supervisor in running the house on a day-to- day basis. Including providing direct care to individuals. Other duties as assigned by crisis home supervisor. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Will be employed up to 24 hours per week On-call availability (the home must have access to a nurse 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.) Employee must meet qualifications listed. Employee will be evaluated after 4 months, 8 months, 1year, and annually thereafter.' Shift hours flexible must work on FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY. No remote work.
