Duties Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to inform care decisions. Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following established protocols and safety standards. Monitor patients' conditions closely, managing acute pain and responding promptly to changes in health status. Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies. Assist with specialized procedures including catheterization, tube feeding, sterile processing, and wound suturing when necessary. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans for residents with complex needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or developmental disabilities. Support triage activities by evaluating patient symptoms and determining urgency levels in emergency or urgent care scenarios. Qualifications Valid RN or LPN license in good standing with the state licensing board. Prior experience working in long-term care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, or assisted living communities is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; experience with medical documentation is essential. Knowledge of critical care practices including ICU or Level I/II trauma center experience is advantageous. Skilled in IV infusion techniques, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS/CPR). Familiarity with medical terminology such as ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and infection control protocols. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of diverse backgrounds and coordinate with healthcare teams. Ability to work independently on Thursdays during daytime hours while maintaining high standards of patient safety and care quality.
