Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting students across multiple schools as a district float nurse. This contract opportunity allows you to make a real impact by stepping in wherever care is needed most, ensuring continuity and quality of healthcare for students every day. As a floating nurse, you'll be relied upon for your adaptability and quick thinking, moving between schools to provide skilled nursing care and support diverse student needs. Your day could include responding to urgent medical situations, assisting with complex procedures, and collaborating with educational teams to deliver comprehensive care.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Missouri LPN or LVN license (required) Demonstrated experience with ventilators, tracheostomy care, and g-tube management Strong assessment skills and ability to respond to emergencies with confidence Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric patients is a plus Flexibility to travel between different school sites within the district
Responsibilities:
Provide nursing care to students throughout multiple schools on an as-needed basis Support students with chronic or complex medical conditions, including ventilator, trach, and g-tube care Collaborate with school health staff, educators, and families to ensure seamless care Maintain clear documentation for each site visited Uphold district policies and safety standards while advocating for student health needs Embrace the variety and community connection that comes with a float nurse position.
