Job Description

Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students with complex needs in a specialized educational setting near Kansas City, MO. This role centers on providing vital healthcare services to students ages K-21 at a school dedicated to individuals with severe disabilities and medically fragile conditions. The position starts as soon as possible and continues through late May 2027, offering a chance to make a tangible difference each day.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active LPN/LVN license Experience with multiple G-tube feedings and administering daily medications Confident operating Hoyer lifts and assisting with diapering for students with mobility challenges Skilled in monitoring and responding to seizures and other medical emergencies Comfortable working in a setting with higher-needs students, including those with autism and significant medical disabilities Strong professional communication skills and ability to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team Passion for supporting students with special needs and contributing positively to a dynamic, supportive environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and compassionate nursing care to students with severe disabilities and complex medical requirements Safely and efficiently manage G-tube feedings, medication administration, and seizure interventions Support daily living activities, including use of mobility equipment and hygiene assistance Collaborate closely with teachers, aides, and allied professionals to address each students unique needs Maintain clear, detailed records and communicate effectively with colleagues and families Foster an inclusive, positive atmosphere that encourages student comfort and engagement Working in this environment requires compassion, adaptability, and a commitment to nurturing students who need your expertise most.
