A Licensed Practical Nurse or Vocational Nurse provides basic medical care under the direction of registered nurses and other healthcare specialists. ESS Clinical is seeking qualified Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide dedicated One on One nursing care and medical support to students in Craven County Schools during the 2026-2027 school year. This is a One on One student nursing position , providing individualized care to one assigned student throughout the school day. The LPN will work with the student, family, school staff, and healthcare team to support the student's health, safety, and participation in school activities . The LPN will provide safe, compassionate care in accordance with the North Carolina LPN scope of practice , applicable laws and regulations, physician orders, and the student's individual healthcare plan. Pay starting at $35/hr up to $40/hr

Opportunities Required Licensure & Qualifications Active, unrestricted North Carolina LPN license in good standing. Must practice in accordance with the North Carolina Nursing Practice Act and North Carolina Board of Nursing rules. Must be at least 18 years of age for Craven County Schools assignments. Current CPR/BLS certification , as required by ESS Clinical or the specific assignment. Successful completion of ESS Clinical application, credentialing, and onboarding. Successful background screening. Ability to provide nursing care within the LPN scope of practice. Ability to follow physician/provider orders and individual student healthcare plans. Ability to administer medications and treatments within the LPN scope of practice. Ability to maintain accurate and confidential student health records. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, teachers, administrators, and healthcare providers. Ability to work with students who have routine, chronic, complex, or medically fragile healthcare needs. Completion of required school-specific and student-specific training. Compliance with ESS Clinical and Craven County Schools policies and procedures. Responsibilities Provide dedicated 1:1 direct nursing care and medical support to an assigned student throughout the school day. Serve as the student's dedicated nurse and provide individualized care based on the student's healthcare needs, individual healthcare plan, and physician/provider orders. Monitor the assigned student's health status and medical conditions and promptly report changes or concerns. Administer medications and treatments according to authorized orders and within the LPN scope of practice. Provide first aid and emergency care within the LPN scope of practice. Assist with care for students with diabetes, seizure disorders, asthma, allergies, feeding tubes/G-tubes, catheterization needs, and other medical conditions as assigned. Maintain continuous awareness of the student's safety, medical needs, and changing condition during the school day. Follow individual healthcare plans, physician/provider orders, and school-specific protocols. Monitor the student for changes in condition and communicate concerns appropriately. Maintain accurate nursing documentation and confidential student health records. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, teachers, school administrators, healthcare providers, and supervising nursing personnel as appropriate. Maintain confidentiality of student medical information. Follow infection-control, safety, and emergency procedures. Complete all required school-specific and student-specific training and competencies. Support the student's ability to safely participate in the school environment and educational activities.
