Job Description

Position Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care under supervision, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient conditions. The LPN collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure quality care and patient safety.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Room patients promptly and assist with dressing as needed. Document vital signs, medications, allergies, and history in the EMR for each patient. Assist providers with exams, procedures, and tests (e.g., EKG, spirometry). Manage nursing triage calls, confer with physicians, and document in the EMR. Process prescription requests, ensuring accuracy and physician approval. Perform phlebotomy, glucose testing, and specimen collection. Administer vaccines, maintain proper storage, and document VFC eligibility. Scan and organize external patient records for completeness in the EMR. Educate patients on medical conditions, medications, and care plans. Maintain cleanliness in clinical areas, exam rooms, and equipment. Assist with ordering medical supplies and pharmaceuticals as needed. Sterilize instruments and ensure proper sterilization equipment calibration. Manage patient scheduling, referrals, and authorizations. Provide clinical coverage for extended hours and flu clinics as assigned. Perform other duties as needed, including training staff and maintaining equipment. Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements:
Current License Practical Nurse (LPN) License in the state of New York. Experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong patient care skills with a focus on compassion and empathy. Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Salary:
$22.00 to $28.50 per hour
