9682768-13905 Job Description Step into a vital role supporting student health by providing exceptional nursing care to a 9th-grade male student in a school setting. This contract opportunity begins immediately and extends through June 25, 2027, offering the chance to make a meaningful difference over multiple school years. Work weekdays from 7:15 am to 2:00 pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week. You will deliver one-on-one nursing services to a student with a tracheostomy, who uses a wheelchair, and has significant mobility needs. Your specialized care and support ensure the students safety, comfort, and participation in the educational environment. If youre an LPN or RN passionate about pediatric care and skilled in complex medical needs, your expertise is needed.
What were looking for:
Current and valid NY LPN or RN license Fingerprint clearance (required for school employment) Previous experience with tracheostomy and wheelchair-bound individuals is highly desirable Strong ability to communicate with students, faculty, and families Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and compassionate care Ability to work independently as a 1:1 nurse in a school setting Pediatric, school-based, or neurodevelopmental disorder experience is a plus Responsibilities include: Providing 1:1 nursing care throughout the school day for the assigned student Monitoring medical status and supporting respiratory and mobility needs Administering medications and interventions as prescribed Completing documentation and collaborating with school staff Safeguarding student health during classroom participation and school activities Responding effectively to emergencies or changing conditions This position allows you to build a trusted relationship with a student, making a significant impact on their educational journey.
