Job Description
Maryknoll Sisters of St. Dominic, Inc., seeks talented, dedicated and experienced individuals to join our staff. We are a congregation of Catholic religious sisters, who serve as missionaries around the world and across the United States. We began in 1912, when we became the first group of Catholic sisters in the United States founded for overseas mission. Today, we have approximately 245 sisters serving in 19 places around the world and throughout the United States, including at our Center House in Ossining, N.Y. Our sisters and lay staff work as collaborative partners to realize our mission: "Co-creating a one earth community where the values of whole-making, mission and contemplation are being lived out." We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse for our community of elderly independent sisters for the evening shift. This is a 40 hours/week position, and the hours are 3:00pm - 11:00pm Monday - Friday. The schedule includes every other weekend. Benefits are available after 60 days orientation. Sick time and holiday time begin immediately upon hire. The Staff Nurse, LPN provides direct patient care services to elderly Sisters in one of our in-house communities. This position works cooperatively and takes direction from the Charge Nurse assigned to this community.
Duties assigned can include:
Prepares and administers medications to patients. Performs direct patient care and selected patient treatments as prescribed by physician and directed and/or assigned by Charge Nurse. Monitors Residents, as assigned, by taking vital signs, observing status, symptoms, reactions, progress, and documenting as required. Promotes mental, emotional, physical health by providing a pleasant/healthy environment. Responds to resident emergencies as they arise. Current New York State LPN license required. Must have physical stamina to walk halls and travel throughout the building.Job Type:
