$29-$31/hour Position Overview Correctional Institution is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide skilled nursing care and support to patients in a correctional healthcare setting. The ideal candidate should be dependable, adaptable, and comfortable working in a structured environment where schedules and assignments may change based on facility needs. Schedule & Availability Full-time, 40 hours per week Primary shift: 6:00 AM-2:00 PM Must be flexible to work 2nd shift: 1:30 PM-9:30 PM , as needed Must be available to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays Schedule, shift, and days may change based on facility needs Candidates must be available to start on the projected start date No upcoming scheduling conflicts, including vacations, appointments, school, or other commitments Must arrive on time and be on the floor and ready to work at the scheduled start time Key Responsibilities Provide nursing care within the LPN scope of practice and under the direction of authorized healthcare professionals Administer medications, including controlled and non-controlled medications, as permitted by applicable regulations and facility policies Perform nursing procedures such as wound care, catheter care, specimen collection, oxygen administration, suctioning, and other treatments within scope of practice Monitor and document patient conditions, medication reactions, treatment responses, behaviors, and progress Maintain accurate patient records, medication administration records, incident reports, and other required documentation Take and record vital signs and provide direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living Respond to patient alarms and assist with emergencies, including first aid and CPR when required Assist healthcare providers with examinations, treatments, and laboratory procedures Maintain medication accountability, medication supplies, equipment, and nursing stations Order medications and medical supplies as directed Provide guidance, orientation, and training to lower-level direct care staff when assigned Participate in staff meetings, nursing meetings, training, and interdisciplinary team activities Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and facility policies Perform other nursing and job-related duties as assigned Qualifications Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required Knowledge of practical nursing procedures, pharmacology, patient care, first aid, and CPR Knowledge of healthcare practices, procedures, HIPAA requirements, and patient safety standards Ability to safely operate and use medical equipment Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team Reliable attendance and punctuality are required Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts based on facility needs This is a full-time contract opportunity offering approximately 40 hours per week , with scheduling flexibility required to meet facility needs. #
