Position Summary The One-to-One Student Nurse provides individualized nursing and health-related support to a student. The nurse's primary responsibility is to support the student's health, safety, access to education, and participation in the school environment throughout the school day. Current and unrestricted Pennsylvania nursing license as an RN or LPN, as appropriatefor the nursing services required by the student. Current CPR/AED certification. Current First Aid certification. Experience working with children or individuals with complex medical needs preferred. Experience working with students with sensory impairments or multiple disabilitiespreferred. Must satisfy all Pennsylvania school employment background-check and clearance requirements. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Accompanying the student throughout the school building and school grounds. Remaining in close proximity to the student when medically necessary. Responding quickly in an emergency. Assisting with positioning, mobility, transfers, or personal care when required by the student's individual plan. Carrying or transporting necessary medical supplies and equipment. Performing CPR, First Aid, and other emergency procedures within the employee's training and scope of practice.
