THE POSITION
The Licensed Practical Nurse role at South Mountain Restoration Center gives you the chance to make a meaningful difference every day. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position plays an important role in supporting residents in a long term care setting by providing direct care and communication. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform the following duties:
Resident Care:
Provide daily care including assistance with activities of daily living, skin care, meals, and routine tasks
Clinical Support:
Record vital signs and resident responses, follow medication policies, and carry out physicians orders accurately
Communication:
Share important resident information with the nursing team and use clear and respectful communication techniques
Safety Practices:
Follow infection control steps, use proper equipment, and maintain awareness of safety and security procedures
Teamwork:
Work under supervision, assist coworkers, and respond to direction in a positive and flexible manner Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding the duties of this position may be found in the position description .
Work hours and additional information:
Full-time employment. Work hours are 2nd shift (2:45 PM to 11:15 PM, 30-minute lunch), or 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, no lunch). Rotating on and off duty days including weekends and holidays. Overtime and travel as needed. The Department of Human Services provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement.

Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $68,914 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary Special Requirements:
This position requires active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practice Nurse in Pennsylvania. All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. If you are within 60 days of completing a licensed practical nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Licensed Practical Nurse license. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
