Director of Nursing/RN Supervisor Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and RN Supervisor you are responsible for providing the highest quality of care in our 117-bed facility to our residents in a family-like environment. You will record all patient interactions through thorough documentation and assess their well-being while following policies and procedures set forth by the facility and federal guidelines.Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited GPN/LPN program. Currently licensed as an LPN in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. BLS/CPR certified. Knowledge of medical terminology and nursing practices. Knowledge of measuring and administering medications. Prior knowledge or experience with Point Click Care preferred but not required. Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required. Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulations that govern the long-term care facility. Monitor and record residents' vitals and well-being, reporting any needs to the medical staff. Maintain the cleanliness and comfort of each resident, by assisting nursing aides with bathing, feeding, dressing, and moving residents from wheelchairs, beds, and gurneys. Assist with daily wound care to ensure residents are healing properly. Changing dressings and bandages as needed/required. Documenting resident records in a timely and confidential manner by signing and dating all entries. Complete and chart all accident/incident reports involving residents. Report all incidents involving staff to RN Supervisor or Director of Nursing. Report all discrepancies concerning physician orders, diet changes, chart errors, CNA work performance, etc. to the RN Supervisor or Director of Nursing. Receive/give the nursing report at the beginning and end of shift. Coordinate with ancillary departments to provide services and resources. Obtain sputum, urine, and other lab tests as ordered by the physician. Review care plans daily to ensure that appropriate care is being rendered by all staff. Make rounds with physicians as necessary. Ensure that rooms are ready for new admissions. Inform residents and families of treatment plans and procedures.Specific Requirements:
Must possess kindness, compassion, and patience for our residents and their families. Knowledge of nursing best practices in compliance with state, federal, and local standards. Must possess positive leadership skills and can work as a team. Must be able to read and write the English language. Must possess excellent oral and strong written communication skills. Must possess excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills to complete daily tasks. Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently throughout the workday. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Must be able to work independently.NOTE:
