Job Description

Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Hospital in Knoxville, TN seeks an LPN/LVN to provide compassionate bedside care for adults recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, orthopedic and neurological conditions, and other serious illnesses. In this inpatient rehab setting, you'll administer medications, perform treatments, monitor vitals, and support activities of daily living under RN and physician direction. Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, document accurately, and uphold strict safety, infection control, and quality standards in a patient-centered, team-driven environment. Responsibilities Provide direct bedside nursing care to adult rehab patients under RN and physician supervision Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately Monitor, document, and report changes in patient condition, including vital signs and neurologic status Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living using safe handling techniques Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehab team to support individualized care plans Educate patients and families on care routines, safety, and discharge planning Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and quality standards in all care activities Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient progress goals Engage in ongoing learning and skills development in rehabilitation nursing Required Skills Medication administration Wound care Vital signs monitoring Rehabilitation nursing fundamentals Patient and family education Electronic health records (EHR) documentation Infection prevention and control Tracheostomy and respiratory care basics Neurological assessment basics Safe patient handling and mobility support
