Job Description

CC Young, a vibrant senior living community and a non-profit leader in senior living and Health Care is seeking a Full Time Floater Nurse
  • RN/ LVN to provide care to residents as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with standards of nursing practices and regulations, as directed by the Director of Nursing Services.
To lead or direct licensed and non-professional staff in delivery of direct resident care and support functions. Please note : The floater nurse will float to various open shifts on a weekly basis. There will not be a permanent assignment given but instead will fill in different shifts to meet the needs of that department. In the event there are no open shifts to be filled, the floater nurse will be directed to provide other duties on behalf of the health center not limited to: audits, immunizations, collecting consents, ordering equipment, supplies, medications, updating care plans, attending meetings, processing admissions/discharges, performing skills checks with employees, in-servicing and continuing education, scheduling appointments and transportation, being responsible for answering the nurse supervisor, staffing or admissions phone.
Schedule:
Flexibility to work any shift and days of the week are required. Will fill in open shifts through the week as needed Job duties include, but are not limited to: Works at maintaining a good rapport and cooperative working relationship with physicians, departments, residents, family, and employees. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding infection prevention and control. Reviews 24-hour report and Medicare charting daily. Communicates with physicians on order entries and changes. Transcribes physicians' orders. Resolves grievances by communicating with residents, families, employees, and physicians. Ensures all medications are ordered and reordered in a timely fashion. Manages CNA assignments. Ensures resident meals are served timely and diets are correct. Manages resident shower schedule and compliance with ADL care. Monitor residents' activity, evaluate nursing care in accordance with professional standards, and provide nursing care according to the physician's orders, care plans, established standards, and facility policies. Participates in Care plan meetings as needed. Prepare and administer medications order by physician, in accordance with the nursing standards and facility policies. Sign, date, and perform all charting and record keeping in accordance with established policies and procedures. Understands, complies with, and promotes all rules regarding resident's rights. Provides direct nursing care to residents which involves walking, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to communicate with residents, ability to hear and respond to resident pages and distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures, ability to read and write; and ability to remain calm under stress. Maintain professional competence, participate in in-service training, assist in implementing orientation programs and job skills training. Orders equipment and supplies as needed for residents. Assists in admitting and discharging residents as necessary. Monitor environment for care practices, ensure compliance with safety, fire and disaster, infection control and all other departmental policies and procedures are followed and to ensure cleanliness and safety of work and treatment areas. Maintain client confidentiality and function within HIPAA regulations. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications include:
Must be a licensed nurse (RN or LVN) in good standing and meet all applicable federal and state licensure requirements. Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility or other health care related facility. Mut be able to read and write in a legible and understandable manner.
