Job Description

Job Summary:
The School Nurse promotes the health and well-being of all students and staff by providing medical care, health education, and wellness initiatives in accordance with state and federal regulations. This role supports academic success by ensuring that students' health needs are met and managed effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to students and staff for injuries and illnesses. Provide and administer doctor visits. Administer prescribed medications and monitor treatments as directed by physicians. • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA. Perform health screenings, including vision, hearing, and scoliosis. Develop individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions or special health needs. Respond to medical emergencies and perform CPR/First Aid as needed. Monitor and manage communicable diseases; report cases per public health guidelines. Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and healthcare providers. Educate students and staff on health promotion and disease prevention. Collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams to support student needs. Participate in the development and implementation of health policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. CPR/AED certification (Required). Previous pediatric, public health, or school nursing experience preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and assessment skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

$67,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
