Hyperbaric Technologist (LPN) Chesapeake Regional Medical Center - 2.9 Chesapeake, VA Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications LPN Full Job Description Summary Prepares, educates and orients patients about the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. This includes lifting or transferring patients per local policy, getting them ready for treatment administration and answering their questions. Administers the hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider to the patient. This includes monitoring and controlling the performance of the hyperbaric chamber equipment, as well as monitoring the patient(s) responses during the session and making proper adjustments to ensure the patient's safety and the safe and effective use of the equipment. Makes the appropriate data entries for daily hyperbaric treatments and wound clinic visits and keeps complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to treatment documentation, to include photo uploading. Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber and other hyperbaric support oxygen systems as required Participates in the safety program activities such as assisting with safety drills Performs other duties as required Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care
Education and Experience Minimum Required Education:
Licensed Practical Nurse Preferred Education:
Experience:
Two (2) or more years' experience in healthcare preferred. Prior experience in wound or critical care preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Certified Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR Certification- to be maintained throughout the duration of employment in this position Must have a current CHT (Certified Hyperbaric Technologist) certification, or be eligible to sit for exam. CHT required within 12 months of hire Wound care certification preferred (or eligible to sit for exam). Experience Preferred Two (2) or more years' experience in healthcare preferred.
