Local candidates only Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to serve as a Health Room Assistant in a school setting. The LPN/LVN will support the health and well-being of students throughout the school day by providing basic nursing care, responding to student health needs, maintaining accurate health records, and assisting with health-related activities. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume school environment , can manage multiple priorities, and is able to work independently while collaborating effectively with school staff. Key Responsibilities Provide nursing support and health services to students throughout the school day. Assess students presenting with illness, injury, or other health concerns and determine appropriate next steps within the LPN scope of practice. Provide first aid and basic nursing care for minor injuries and illnesses. Monitor student symptoms and vital signs as appropriate. Administer medications and treatments according to authorized orders and school policies. Respond promptly to student health needs and emergencies. Recognize changes in a student's condition and escalate concerns to the appropriate healthcare professional or school staff. Maintain accurate and confidential student health records and documentation. Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns as directed. Collaborate with school nurses, teachers, administrators, counselors, and other school personnel. Support students with chronic or ongoing health conditions according to established healthcare plans. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized health room. Monitor and maintain medical supplies and equipment. Follow infection-control, safety, privacy, and school health policies. Provide a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment for students. Manage a high volume of student visits while maintaining quality and timely care. Prioritize multiple student needs effectively in a fast-paced environment. Perform additional health-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Current Washington State LPN/LVN license required. Previous school nursing, pediatric, outpatient, or healthcare experience is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent organization and time-management skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume environment. Dependable, punctual, flexible, and adaptable. Comfortable working with children and adolescents. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Strong judgment and attention to detail. Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and healthcare professionals.
