This would include assisting provider(s) in back office procedures including placing patient in exam rooms, taking vital signs, medication reconciliation, data input into EMR, assisting in the room with procedures, communicating messages and basic advice as directed by the provider. Ideal applicant would be highly organized, efficient, self directed, work collaboratively in a team, and compassionately interact with patients and their families. Job duties may include the following: Prepares, retrieves and maintains appropriate records and other documentation of clinic activities through EHR or by other means. Keeps exam rooms clean and stocked with necessary supplies, ensuring none of the stock has expired. Exam tables and rooms are orderly, safe, and cleaned between patient visits. Prepares exam room with necessary supplies for exam or procedure. Notifying manager of inventory needs. Ensures equipment is cleaned, calibrated and/or monitored as scheduled. Maintains fluency in all aspects of the clinic's EHR system. Calls patient from waiting room and places them in exam room. Obtains height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature and/or pulse oximetry and records in the Electronic Health Record. Records patient and family medical history, verifies allergies, reviews and updates medication list and other documents. Performs chart renewals. Provides direct patient care and support during clinic. Assists provider with exams and procedures under provider's direction. Under direction of the Provider, enters orders and schedules patients for other related or ancillary services such as imaging, lab and procedures. Ensures completions and reports to Provider as needed. Under direction of the Provider/Provider Protocols, orders medication refills, obtains prior authorization for prescriptions and procedures and also appeals denials. Triages patient concerns over the phone as needed and returns phone calls communicating normal results and advice to patient as directed by provider. Prepares for and assists Provider in procedures (i.e.superficial skin biopsies, injections). Demonstrates knowledge of managing sterile fields and practices aseptic techniques as observed by the Provider. Dependent on applicant's scope of practice: Demonstrates knowledge of basic pharmacology and administers injectable and intravenous medications in a safe manner and reconstitutes medications such as Botox or other medications for procedures under the direction of the Provider. Accepts work assignments within scope of practice as delegated by Supervisor and Provider. Actively contributes to a pleasant work environment. Employs tact and courtesy with patients, visitors and coworkers at all times. Continually strives to establish and maintain good rapport and working relationships to foster positive intra•and inter-departmental communications. Maintains composure under stress and utilizes appropriate resources to cope with stressful situations. Identifies learning needs and seeks avenues for professional improvement. Demonstrates flexibility in working hours and schedules in order to meet the needs of the medical clinic. Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to safety rules, policies and procedures of Catalyst Neuromedical Center. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times, discussing patient, clinic or hospital business only when appropriate and necessary to provide quality patient care. Education Requirements High school diploma required Experience Ideal applicant would possess 2+ years of experience as a medical assistant in the clinic setting. Experience working with eClinicalworks preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to use medical equipment such as stethoscope, thermometer, sphygmomanometer, and other necessary medical equipment. Expected Salary Salary amount varies depending on experience, education, and qualifications. Work Schedule Monday•Friday 7:45am•5pm Work Location One medical office located in
