This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional patient service, and maintaining accurate medical records. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of administrative and clinical skills, with experience in various electronic health record (EHR) systems and a strong understanding of medical terminology. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk operations, including answering multi-line phone systems and scheduling appointments. Perform medical administrative support tasks such as insurance verification, medical billing, and documentation review. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure proper handling of sensitive information. Assist with medical collection processes and coordinate care plans as needed. Utilize EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for patient data management. Conduct intake assessments and assist with patient education regarding treatments and procedures. Support clinical staff by preparing examination rooms, assisting during procedures, and ensuring proper sterilization of instruments. Handle clerical tasks including filing, typing reports, and managing health information management systems. Skills Proficient in medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding, and medical billing practices. Experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks is highly desirable. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency and 10-key typing ability. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to enhance patient interactions. Bilingual abilities are a plus for effective communication with diverse patient populations. Previous clinic or hospital experience is preferred along with familiarity in dental terminology if applicable to the practice setting. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation and record keeping.
