Prepare exam rooms, assist providers during examinations, and perform basic clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and taking vital signs. Manage appointment scheduling, patient intake processes, and follow-up communications to ensure smooth clinic flow. Support medical staff with administrative duties including ICD coding for diagnoses, updating medical records, and managing electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems). Assist with inventory management of medical supplies and ensure proper sterilization and infection control protocols are followed. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine or Level I trauma centers to provide high-quality patient care. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical assisting techniques. Experience working in dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers or similar settings with inpatient or outpatient focus. Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems and ICD coding for accurate documentation. Ability to perform clinical procedures including phlebotomy, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS). Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations such as geriatrics or those requiring medical-surgical care. Familiarity with hospital experience requirements including Level II trauma center or Level I trauma center protocols is a plus. Effective communication skills for coordinating with healthcare teams and providing clear instructions to patients.
