Company Overview San Diego Fertility Center is a world-class reproductive center. With more than 70 years of collective experience diagnosing and treating infertility, SDFC is a leading fertility provider in San Diego, and is proud to host patients from throughout the world for IVF and other fertility treatments. Job Summary We are hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team at our Del Mar location. In this role, you will assist physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, ultrasound technologists, and nurses in providing exceptional care to our patients. Responsibilities include recording and updating medical histories and contact information in patient files, scheduling patient appointments, and performing standard care procedures such as checking vital signs and collecting lab samples. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative, patient-focused team at a leading fertility practice. Please note, this role requires at least one year experience as an OBGYN or Fertility Medical Assistant. Job Essentials Ensures proper patient identification. Provide excellent customer service. Schedule appointments in our EMR. Perform data entry. Measure and record vital signs. Clean exam room while always being HIPAA compliant. Answer phone calls. Manage patient requests in our EMR. Manage faxes that are incoming and outgoing. Uploading documents into correct patients' chart and if applicable, adding the faxed document to the daily worklist for the doctor to sign off on. Manage text messages through our texting platform. Clear understanding of all SOPs. Clear understanding of all medications that we use and can demonstrate to clinical coach, clinical manager and teach patients how to use their medications properly. Consents through our consenting platform and checking it regularly to sign off on consents and update patient's chart. Assist doctors and APPs with procedures in office and provide correct post procedure instructions. Demonstrates proficiency with EMR, consenting platform, email, and patient portal. Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, including time stamps. Check tasks and messages on scheduled days in office. Performs Andrology services, including preparation of semen samples for intrauterine insemination and complete sperm analysis assessed by World Health Organization (WHO) standards using a semen analyzer. Follows all laboratory SOPs and OSHA guidelines including universal precautions for blood borne pathogens. Other duties as assigned Qualifications High School diploma or GED Must know how to use Microsoft Word and Excel Must type an average 40 words per minute Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills over the phone and through digital communication (i.e. email, text messaging platform and patient portal).
