Job Overview This is a temporary position for an employee who will be on maternity leave. The position currently covers from October 5th thru January 12th with possibilities of some change. The position is for Monday thru Thursday we are currently closed on Fridays. Not scheduled at this time, but may need to work Fridays on occasions.

- Must have experience as a medical assistant certification preferred, but will review experience.
- Knowledge of Medical terminology
- Must be flexible with work schedule which may include occasional Fridays.
- Performs routine medical assistant daily support services.
- Patients are seen in the office on Mondays and Thursdays. Other days are hospital surgery days for the Physician. Surgery days allows time to collect information needed and work on schedules. Job Description
- Answers phones and triages patient needs: requests for medication, postoperative questions, appointments.
- Triaging calls from Home Health agencies, handling pt orders assuring they are signed and faxed.
- Schedules Office appointments for referrals and follow ups as requested.
- Reviews weekly surgery schedule for office visit follow-ups needed to be scheduled. Acquire authorization first then, schedule the appointments.
- Assure patients appointment information is acquired prior to the appointment. o Making sure the patient has completed forms, authorizations are on file, labs, imaging, etc. are in place prior to the appointment.
- New referrals -Gathers information and makes appointments for new referrals.
- Preparing Charts for appointment, rooming patients, documenting patient history and concerns, making sure the needed imaging is up for Physician and documented properly.
- Sets up exam rooms and rooms patients.
- Manage patient flow, and support everything from check-in to check-out.
- Relaying the patient medical information (reason for visit) questions and concerns, history and changes to the physician.
- Educating the patient where needed.
- Gain an understanding of the procedures the physician performs.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Pay:
$21.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
