The ideal candidate will assist with patient care by performing various clinical and administrative duties in support of our physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs). This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
Vital Signs & Patient Care:
Take and record patient vitals (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight, etc.) and prepare patients for examination.
EKGs:
Perform and document electrocardiograms (EKGs) accurately and efficiently.
Rooming Patients:
Prepare exam rooms for patient visits and room patients for their appointments.
Patient Presentations:
Present patients to physicians and APPs, ensuring that all relevant information is provided for a smooth and thorough consultation.
Telephone Inquiries:
Timely responding to patient and physician phone inquiries, addressing concerns and relaying messages as needed.
Prescription Refills:
Process prescription refill requests, ensuring accurate documentation and communication with prescribing providers.
Scheduling:
Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments for patients and coordinate any necessary tests or procedures.
Office-Based Procedures:
Assist physicians during office-based procedures, maintaining patient comfort and assisting with equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred. At least 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in cardiology or a related specialty or adult primary care. Proficiency in performing EKGs and taking patient vitals. Knowledge of medical terminology, especially in cardiology. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, such as Epic, Cerner, or similar. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
