Job Description
Performs a variety of office duties in assisting the physician in office procedures, patient communication, completing necessary paperwork, and scheduling and referring patients for tests and treatments. Alternatively performs functions of a clinic assistant, functioning under the direction, guidance, and supervision of a licensed physician or nurse, assisting in planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care for patients in coordination with other health disciplines. Prepares patients and assists physician with minor surgical procedures. Takes vitals such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature. Maintains inventory of supplies, sterilizes instruments and equipment. May complete lab tests and/or x-rays with the scope of CMA credentials. Requires certification from a nationally approved accreditation body.
