Job Overview Colorado Accident & Injury (CAI) is seeking an experienced, professional, dependable, and highly organized Bilingual Medical Assistant to join our Colorado Springs clinical team. CAI is a multidisciplinary medical practice specializing in the evaluation and treatment of patients injured in motor vehicle accidents. Our clinical team includes physicians and advanced-practice providers, physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, pain-management providers, and other specialty services. The Medical Assistant plays an important role in supporting our medical providers, coordinating patient care, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, preparing patients for examinations and procedures, and helping the clinic operate efficiently. This is primarily a clinical Medical Assistant position , although the successful candidate must also be willing to assist with scheduling, patient communications, reception, medical records, and other administrative responsibilities when needed. The ideal candidate is mature, compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and able to effectively manage multiple responsibilities in a busy medical environment. Fluency in both Spanish and English is required. Primary Medical Assistant Responsibilities Room patients and prepare them for physician or advanced-practice provider evaluations. Obtain and accurately document vital signs. Review and update medications, allergies, medical history, and relevant clinical information. Assist providers with examinations and office-based procedures as directed. Prepare examination and procedure rooms before patient visits. Maintain clean, organized, and appropriately stocked clinical areas. Assist with patient education and follow-up instructions. Document appropriate patient communications in the electronic medical record. Assist with clinical forms, referrals, orders, and administrative documentation. Scan, upload, and organize outside medical records, imaging reports, and other clinical documents. Request outside medical records and diagnostic studies as directed. Coordinate referrals to specialists, diagnostic imaging facilities, physical therapy, and other healthcare providers. Assist providers and clinical staff with tracking outstanding imaging, referrals, consultations, and follow-up appointments. Maintain appropriate clinical supplies and notify management when supplies require reordering. Support efficient patient flow throughout the clinic. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Patient Coordination and Administrative Support Medical Assistants at CAI work as part of a team and may periodically assist with front-office responsibilities, including: Greeting and checking patients in and out. Scheduling and confirming appointments. Answering and routing telephone calls. Assisting Spanish-speaking patients with scheduling, paperwork, instructions, and communication with the clinical team. Maintaining accurate demographic, insurance, and contact information. Communicating professionally with patients, attorneys, insurance representatives, healthcare providers, and coworkers. Assisting with medical-record requests and documentation. Helping wherever needed to maintain efficient clinic operations. Required Qualifications Fluent bilingual Spanish/English - REQUIRED. Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a clinical or medical-office environment - REQUIRED. Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a comparable hands-on healthcare position. Strong understanding of basic medical terminology and clinical workflow. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer and electronic medical record skills. Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and related office applications. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities. Professional appearance and demeanor. Excellent patient-service skills. Ability to work effectively with patients experiencing pain, anxiety, stress, or functional limitations following an injury. Ability to work independently while remaining an effective member of a multidisciplinary clinical team. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with experience in: Personal-injury or motor-vehicle-accident medicine Orthopedics Physical medicine and rehabilitation Pain management Chiropractic or rehabilitation practices Athenahealth, Epic, eClinicalWorks, or similar electronic medical record systems Medical records management Insurance verification Medical referrals and diagnostic imaging coordination Assisting with medical procedures Working with attorneys, law firms, or personal-injury patients About Colorado Accident & Injury Colorado Accident & Injury provides comprehensive multidisciplinary medical care for patients injured in motor vehicle accidents. Our goal is to identify injuries that may have been overlooked during an initial emergency-department or urgent-care evaluation and provide coordinated, evidence-based treatment supported by thorough clinical documentation. We are looking for a long-term Medical Assistant who takes pride in excellent patient care, dependable performance, attention to detail, and contributing to an organized and professional clinical environment. Applicants who are not fluent in both Spanish and English or who do not have at least three years of clinical/medical-office experience should not apply.
