What You Will Do:
The Clinical Laboratory Assistant is responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures, blood processing, obtaining lab results from reference laboratories, assisting with andrology related duties, and maintenance of computer-generated logs and reports for patient testing and billing. The Clinical Laboratory Assistant reports to the Clinical Lab Supervisor. Provide phlebotomy services to clinical laboratory patients according to CCRM protocols (i.e., patient identification, patient preparation, and specimen collection/labeling). Confirm all information with patient and request/facilitate any necessary changes. Confirm patient insurance information and ensure use of contracted reference laboratory when appropriate; route billing information as "bill insurance"; "bill patient"; "bill client". Process sample(s) for testing, ensure proper transportation/storage conditions, complete requisition forms, and maintain electronic record of all processes. Generate billing, charges, and payment information for laboratory services and perform billing audit as required. Maintain sanitary work environment and follow bloodborne pathogen handling and disposal procedures per OSHA guidelines. Maintain adequate supplies for phlebotomy procedures; conduct inventory at pre-established intervals and order supplies to maintain inventory. Follow established procedure for returned shipping kits. Review and maintain the RSO to reflect current/pending orders daily. Collaborate with genetic laboratories to ensure proper billing and resolve billing issues. Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Phlebotomy Certificate Required Minimum of 200 documented, successful blood draws is required. Working knowledge of laboratory software. Able to collect payment for services rendered. Maintain strict confidentiality for all clinic/lab information in accordance with CCRM security and confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations.

This job operates in a professional office, clinical and/or laboratory setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, including computer keyboards and mice; telephones; photocopiers; scanners; filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will interact with others and ensure compliance with medical regulations, ethical guidelines, and organizational policies to maintain the highest standards of care and patient and staff safety.
CCRM's Compensation:
The salary range represents the national average compensation for this position. The base salary offered will vary based on location, experience, skills, and knowledge. The pay range does not reflect the total compensation package. Our rewards may include an annual bonus, flexible work arrangements, and many other region-specific benefits.
