Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates. Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments for procedures in dermatology, urgent care, or hospital settings. Perform phlebotomy to draw blood samples accurately and efficiently for laboratory testing. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) by documenting patient encounters, updating medical records, and ensuring data accuracy. Support medication administration under physician supervision and ensure proper medication documentation following safety protocols. Conduct basic life support (BLS) procedures when necessary and assist with emergency response efforts in inpatient or outpatient environments. Facilitate communication between patients and providers by answering questions, scheduling appointments, and providing patient education on treatment plans or medication use. Assist with ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases) for accurate billing and record-keeping purposes. Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations by managing medical records securely and ensuring confidentiality at all times. Support hospital medicine units or outpatient clinics with administrative tasks such as managing medical documentation, coordinating referrals, and tracking patient progress. Experience Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics, hospital settings, or urgent care centers with a focus on dermatology or internal medicine preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in EHR/EMR systems and electronic health records management. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding standards. Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs collection, and basic life support certification required. Inpatient experience at Level II trauma centers or within emergency medicine environments is highly desirable. Prior work in hospital medicine units such as PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics wards, or surgical units is advantageous. Strong background in medical-surgical procedures along with outpatient care experience across diverse specialties including internal medicine or geriatrics. Excellent patient service skills combined with the ability to manage medical documentation accurately in fast-paced settings.
