Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will provide hands-on support in outpatient and inpatient settings, ensuring smooth operations across various medical specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and hospital medicine. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including recording vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, X-ray assistance, and basic life support (BLS) as needed. Manage medical documentation accurately, including ICD coding, medical records management, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EMR). Support medical office operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling administrative duties related to billing and insurance processing. Conduct routine clinical procedures in various specialties such as dermatology, urgent care, geriatrics, or surgical settings to ensure optimal patient care. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine environments like Level I Trauma Centers or PICU units to deliver seamless patient services. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant with a strong background in outpatient or inpatient settings; experience in dermatology, emergency medicine, or hospital environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical assisting procedures. Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and electronic health records management tools. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred; relevant certifications are a plus. Ability to perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, X-ray assistance, and vital signs measurement accurately. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations across outpatient clinics or hospital units. Strong organizational skills for managing medical documentation and supporting clinic operations efficiently. Flexibility to work in various healthcare settings including outpatient clinics, emergency departments, or specialized units like Geriatrics or Medical-Surgical wards.
