Full Job Description Overview:
We are planning to expand our South Florida Spine and Orthopedics team! We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations in our medical facility. If you are detail-oriented, patient-focused, and thrive in a fast-paced medical environment, we encourage you to apply.Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for examination, taking medical history in a professional and friendly manner
- Assist healthcare providers during examination and procedures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health systems
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions
- Ensure all examination rooms are clean, stocked, an ready to use
- Comply with healthcare regulations, patient confidentiality laws, and clinic protocols
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual
- Manage the company's main fax inbox and respond to inquiries promptly
- Schedule appointments and maintain the office calendar
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document preparation
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinical setting preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
