The Medical Assistant is the first point of contact for patient care. The Medical Assistant performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Medical Assistant performs clinical duties such as: Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean. Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician. Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming the purpose of visit. Taking Vitals signs, weight, height, and temperature Prepare and administer medications and injections as directed by a physician. Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physicians' instructions to patients. Prepares collected specimen for laboratory analysis, including properly completing proper lab requisition forms. Provides lab results to physicians for review, and contacts patient with lab results as instructed by the Physician. Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies. Maintains and monitors biohazard receptacles. Maintains and follows OSHA guidelines. Maintains all equipment in proper working and observes safe and accurate use of all medical devices. Prior Authorization for Medication Triage patients and communicate with Physicians Accurately updating patient information into the EMR. Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.
