Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient histories, diagnoses (ICD coding), treatment plans, and medication administration. Support patient intake processes by verifying insurance information, updating medical histories, and explaining procedures to enhance patient service experience. Assist with hospital-based care including inpatient rounds, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) procedures, or Level I/II trauma center protocols as needed. Ensure compliance with safety standards by maintaining infection control practices and adhering to protocols for emergency situations such as basic life support (BLS) and trauma response. Coordinate with medical staff to schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and diagnostic tests like X-ray or laboratory procedures. Experience Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or hospital settings is essential. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding enhances your ability to deliver quality care. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is required for efficient documentation management. Inpatient experience within hospital medicine or ICU environments—including PICU or Geriatrics—is highly desirable. Familiarity with emergency medicine procedures at Level I or Level II trauma centers demonstrates your capability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
