We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Assistant - Podiatry to join our team. The ideal candidate is a dependable, positive, and highly organized professional who enjoys working in a busy clinical setting. Podiatry experience and X-ray experience are strongly preferred. Position Responsibilities Provide exceptional, compassionate patient care and customer service. Perform daily clinical and administrative duties as assigned. Obtain and document patient medical histories, medications, and allergies. Prepare patient charts and ensure necessary information is available for each visit. Perform patient intake, including chief complaint, history, and vital signs. Assist the provider with examinations, procedures, and in-office treatments. Assist with podiatry procedures, including casting, splinting, wound care, and DME. Perform post-operative patient care, including suture and staple removal. Assist with surgery scheduling and coordination. Complete clinical patient calls and assist with call triage. Accurately document patient information and clinical care in the EMR. Scribe for the provider as needed. Process prescription refill requests according to physician direction. Assist with injection and radiology authorizations. Complete and process FMLA, disability, and workers' compensation (DWC) paperwork. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Prepare, clean, and stock examination rooms and clinical areas. Maintain appropriate supplies and equipment in the clinical area. Participate in professional development and maintain current clinical knowledge. Treat patients, physicians, coworkers, and visitors with professionalism, dignity, and respect. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in podiatry, preferred . Previous experience assisting with podiatry procedures strongly preferred. EMR experience required; Athenahealth experience is a plus. X-ray experience preferred; BXMO certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification . Strong clinical and patient-care skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently while also functioning as a strong team member. Professional, dependable, and positive attitude. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. Must be comfortable working in a busy podiatry practice and assisting with a variety of clinical responsibilities. Why Join Our Team?
