Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. This vital role involves providing exceptional patient care, supporting medical staff, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical assisting, with experience spanning outpatient, inpatient, emergency medicine, and specialized fields such as dermatology, hospital medicine, and geriatrics. Your proactive approach will help deliver efficient patient services, accurate documentation, and seamless coordination across various medical settings. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including recording vital signs and updating medical histories in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems Prepare examination rooms and assist during procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready Perform phlebotomy and medication administration under supervision, adhering to safety protocols and pharmacology guidelines Support patient service activities such as scheduling appointments, answering questions, and providing clear instructions for follow-up care Document medical information accurately using EMR/EHR systems and ensure all records comply with healthcare regulations Take responsibility for patient comfort by explaining procedures, managing anxiety, and maintaining a compassionate demeanor Conduct basic physiology assessments and assist with ICD coding for billing purposes Support hospital medicine units or trauma centers with inpatient procedures or outpatient visits as needed Maintain medical records meticulously, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards Assist in managing medical office operations including inventory management, appointment scheduling, and administrative support Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics, hospitals, or specialized fields such as dermatology or urgent care Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and EMR/EHR systems Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications like Phlebotomy or Medication Administration are a plus Strong understanding of patient care practices across diverse settings including geriatrics, emergency medicine, and Level I/II trauma centers Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and team collaboration Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation and medical records Inpatient experience or OR exposure is advantageous; familiarity with hospital medicine or outpatient procedures is highly valued Physiology knowledge combined with medical assisting expertise to support comprehensive patient care Join us to be part of a passionate team committed to delivering exceptional healthcare experiences.
