Fluent in English and Spanish About the Position We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and professional Bilingual Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team at our Hoffman Estates location. The ideal candidate is fluent in English and Spanish , has excellent communication and patient-service skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced urgent care and medical office environment. As a Medical Assistant, you will work closely with providers and other members of the healthcare team to provide excellent patient care while helping ensure efficient daily clinic operations. Responsibilities Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner and provide excellent customer service. Assist with patient check-in, intake, and rooming. Obtain and document patient medical histories, medications, allergies, and vital signs. Accurately enter and update patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) . Prepare examination and procedure rooms and ensure they are clean, organized, and properly stocked. Assist physicians and healthcare providers with examinations and minor procedures. Perform or assist with phlebotomy, injections, specimen collection, EKGs, and other clinical tasks as trained and authorized. Assist with medication preparation and administration according to provider orders and applicable regulations. Communicate with Spanish-speaking patients and families to help ensure clear understanding of instructions and care plans. Provide patients with appropriate instructions regarding medications, follow-up appointments, referrals, and provider recommendations. Assist with scheduling appointments, referrals, and diagnostic testing as needed. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and other applicable healthcare and workplace policies. Keep exam rooms, equipment, and common clinical areas clean, organized, and ready for patients. Monitor and maintain adequate inventory of medical and office supplies. Assist the front office team with check-in/check-out and other administrative duties when needed. Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff to maintain efficient patient flow. Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Fluent in both English and Spanish is required. Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred. Experience in an urgent care, primary care, family medicine, pain management, or other outpatient medical setting is a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures. Experience with an EMR/EHR system preferred. Experience with vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, and specimen collection is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Professional, dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. Must be comfortable interacting with patients of different ages and backgrounds. CMA/RMA certification is preferred but not required depending on experience and qualifications.
