Job Summary The Pediatric Medical Assistant performs a mix of clinical and administrative duties to support our pediatricians and ensure a smooth, comfortable experience for children and their families. This role requires someone who is highly organized, works well under pressure, and has a strong passion for pediatric care. Friday:
Open availability between 7:45 AM and 7:30 PM (shifts will be scheduled within this timeframe).
Saturdays:
Availability to work 2 Saturdays per month from 7:45 AM to 1:30 PM .
Key Responsibilities Patient Intake:
Greet young patients and families, obtain accurate medical histories, and measure vital signs (including height, weight, head circumference, and blood pressure).
Clinical Support:
Prepare exam rooms, assist providers during pediatric examinations, and comfort children during procedures.
Administering Care:
Administer immunizations, vaccinations, and medications as directed by providers.
Lab Work:
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, and perform basic point-of-care testing (e.g., rapid strep, flu tests).
Administrative Duties:
Document patient interactions accurately within the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, handle triage phone calls, and assist with scheduling or prescription refills as needed.
Sanitization:
Maintain clean, sterile, and fully stocked exam rooms in compliance with safety standards. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program; Certification (CMA, CCMA, or RMA) is highly preferred. Current
CPR / BLS
Certification. Prior experience in a pediatric clinic or fast-paced urgent care setting is a strong plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to put anxious children and parents at ease. Strong multi-tasking skills and proficiency with EMR systems.
