FEMACARE OB GYN
in Wheeling, Illinois, United States Job Description Record vital signs, obtain detailed patient medical and obstetric/gynecologic histories, and prepare patients for exams and procedures. Perform routine clinical tasks, including phlebotomy, administering intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, and collecting and preparing laboratory specimens. Process laboratory orders and medication prescriptions per physician instructions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Provide patient education on post-procedure care, prescribed medications, prenatal and postpartum wellness, and gynecologic health. Assist OB/GYN physicians during in-office procedures such as saline infusion sonograms (SIS), colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, and intrauterine device (IUD) insertions and removals. Accurately document patient encounters and clinical findings in the electronic medical records (EMR) system. Prepare patient charts in advance of visits and support the physician with accurate and timely documentation. Maintain inventory and ensure the availability of necessary medical supplies and equipment specific to OB/GYN care. Answer patient phone calls regarding symptoms, pregnancy concerns, menstrual issues, prescription refills, and scheduling. Relay test results to patients and provide follow-up instructions, including guidance on the next steps for abnormal findings. Train and mentor new medical assistants in OB/GYN-specific procedures, EMR documentation, and clinical protocols.
