Healthy Horizons Pediatrics

•Kokomo, IN Full-Time | $18.00

•22.00 per hour Healthy Horizons Pediatrics is looking for a dependable, friendly, and experienced Medical Assistant to join our Kokomo team. We are an independent pediatric practice dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to children and families. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, communicates well with parents and coworkers, and takes pride in being part of a supportive healthcare team. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, flexible, and able to work efficiently in a busy pediatric office. We value teamwork and are looking for someone interested in becoming a long-term member of our practice. Responsibilities Room patients and accurately obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers with patient care Administer vaccines and other injections as directed Perform point-of-care testing such as strep, flu, COVID, hemoglobin, and other routine office tests Answer patient phone calls, voicemails, and clinical messages and route questions appropriately Assist with referrals and prior authorizations Schedule and confirm patient appointments Review and verify insurance eligibility when needed Assist with front-desk responsibilities, including welcoming and checking in patients Maintain clinical supplies and assist with inventory and ordering Keep exam rooms and clinical areas clean, organized, and appropriately stocked Work collaboratively with providers, medical assistants, and front-office staff to keep patient flow running smoothly Qualifications Previous healthcare experience required Medical Assistant certification preferred Pediatric experience is a plus Experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred Comfortable administering vaccines and injections Excellent communication and customer-service skills Strong organizational and time-management skills Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team Comfortable working with children of all ages and communicating with parents and caregivers Ability to multitask and remain professional in a busy medical office Compensation $18.00
