Job Description
Job Summary A healthcare services organization in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a dependable, patient-focused Medical Assistant who enjoys supporting both clinical and administrative operations in a busy healthcare setting. The Certified Medical Assistant will work closely with providers, patients, and clinic team members to help maintain efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and a positive care experience. Key Responsibilities
- Room patients, obtain vital signs, document medical histories, and gather chief complaints.
- Assist providers with exams, treatments, minor procedures, injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and phlebotomy as assigned.
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, stock supplies, and maintain infection control standards.
- Update electronic medical records, verify patient information, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, answer calls, and support patient follow-up communications.
- Process referrals, prior authorizations, prescription requests, check-in, check-out, and payment processing as needed. Compensation and Benefits
Pay:
$15.00 to $16.00 per hour.Job Type:

Shreveport, LA. Required Qualifications and Skills- Support providers with patient intake, clinical documentation, exams, procedures, and treatment preparation.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure patient information is complete and up to date.
- Assist with clinic workflow, appointment scheduling, patient communication, and follow-up needs.
- Help maintain clean, stocked, and compliant exam rooms while following infection control standards.
- Certified Medical Assistant credential required.
- 1 to 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred for this role.
- Experience taking vital signs, documenting patient histories, assisting with injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and phlebotomy.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation.
- Ability to support front-office tasks such as scheduling, phone communication, referrals, prior authorizations, check-in, check-out, and payment processing.
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining confidentiality and patient privacy. Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a clinic, physician office, or outpatient healthcare setting.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Experience assisting with referrals, prior authorizations, prescription requests, and patient follow-up.
- Bilingual communication skills may be helpful in serving a diverse patient population.
