Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant specializing in dermatology and Mohs surgery to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for patient care, medical assisting, and skin health, including those taking gap years or exploring careers in medical fields. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to support clinical operations while gaining valuable experience in outpatient dermatological procedures, surgical assistance, and patient management. Responsibilities Assist dermatologists and Mohs surgeons during patient consultations, biopsies, excisions, and surgical procedures Prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies and ensure a sterile environment for all procedures Take and record accurate patient vital signs, medical histories, and current medications using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Manage patient intake processes including verifying insurance information, updating medical records, and explaining procedural steps clearly Support clinical documentation by accurately recording medical notes, procedure details, and ICD coding for billing purposes Maintain organized medical records, ensure compliance with privacy regulations, and assist in managing electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) efficiently Support clinic operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and providing excellent patient service with empathy and professionalism Experience Prior experience in dermatology clinics or outpatient medical offices is preferred but not required; training will be provided for all clinical tasks Experience with hospital medicine, urgent care settings, or emergency medicine enhances your ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments Knowledge of basic physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical terminology is highly desirable Previous inpatient or outpatient experience at Level I Trauma Centers or Geriatrics settings is a plus Demonstrated ability to manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), perform vital signs assessments, and support medical documentation processes Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is preferred to ensure readiness for emergency situations Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach to care are essential for success in this role Join us to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while advancing your career in a vibrant healthcare environment.
