The ideal candidate will provide both clinical and administrative support to the physician, assist with patient care, maintain accurate medical records, and help ensure a positive patient experience. This position requires occasional travel between our two office locations to provide coverage and support as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet and room patients in a professional and friendly manner. Obtain and document vital signs, chief complaints, and medical histories. Collect and update past medical, surgical, family, and social histories. Review and reconcile medications and allergies. Carry forward and update patient information within the electronic medical record (EMR). Assist the physician during patient examinations and treatments. File, smooth, and prepare toenails as directed by the physician. Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and supplies for patient visits. Support and maintain MIPS (Merit-based Incentive Payment System) documentation and quality reporting requirements. Accurately document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR. Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate patient care when needed. Educate patients on treatment plans, foot care, and physician instructions. Clean, sterilize, and maintain clinical instruments and equipment. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all office policies and procedures. Occasionally float between our two office locations to provide clinical support and maintain efficient patient care operations. Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment. Basic computer and EMR proficiency.
Preferred:
Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent). Previous experience in podiatry, orthopedics, wound care, or another specialty medical practice. Familiarity with MIPS reporting and quality measures. Experience with electronic medical records. Physical Requirements Ability to walk patients back and forth in a narrow hallway throughout the workday. Ability to bend and reach patient's lower extremities. Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment as needed. Ability to travel between office locations when required.
