Full Job Description Role Overview:
The Medical Assistant II provides advanced clinical support, manages patient flow and scheduling, and ensures patient satisfaction and compliance with procedures. They serve as a role model with higher technical expertise, assist in resolving operational issues, and coordinate patient care when clinicians are unavailable.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise patient flow, access, and clinician scheduling to optimize care delivery. Handle patient concerns, third-party requests, and documentation needs. Sort and review communications, maintain electronic messages, and prioritize urgent cases. Participate in practice improvement activities, train new staff, and support departmental initiatives, including electronic medical record upgrades. May serve as a float across departments, learning operational practices of multiple areas.
Qualifications & Skills:
High School Diploma/GED; 3+ years experience in a clinical setting, with at least 1 year as a Medical Assistant (degree may substitute). Preferred certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS, depending on specialty. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills necessary.
Benefits & Compensation:
Compensation ranges from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, incentive programs, 401k, and more, subject to eligibility.
