Medical Assistant / Ophthalmic Technician The Medical Assistant/Ophthalmic Technician plays a key role in providing high-quality patient care in a clinical setting. In this role, you will greet patients, explain what to expect during their visit, escort them to exam rooms, and perform diagnostic ophthalmic testing prior to the physician exam. You will ensure accurate documentation, assist with procedures, and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming clinic environment.

• Friday No weekends What You Will Be Doing Greet and interact with patients, gathering accurate information and entering it into the electronic medical records (EMR) system Clearly communicate what patients can expect during their visit and provide updates regarding delays or changes Document patient chief complaints, present illness, and past medical history Accurately record all clinical information in the EMR according to established standards and physician requirements Perform diagnostic ophthalmic testing, including visual acuity, tonometry, lensometry, eye muscle function, pupil size, and reactivity Administer ophthalmic drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate the eyes Assist physicians with minor surgical procedures, intraocular injections, and laser treatments, including preparing patients for sterile procedures Provide patient education on medications and pre•and post-operative instructions as directed by physicians Serve as a medical scribe for physicians as needed Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA requirements Utilize effective problem-solving skills to professionally de-escalate dissatisfied patients Maintain a clean and safe clinic environment, including sterilization and cleaning of equipment Demonstrate knowledge of eye anatomy, ocular diseases, symptoms, and ophthalmic medications Stay current on new technologies and treatments and answer general patient questions Support team members and assist with additional projects as needed What You Know Required High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs Preferred One (1) or more years of experience in a medical practice Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Knowledge of medical terminology What You Will Receive Competitive wages Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life, and short•and long-term disability insurance Generous paid time off (PTO) Seven (7) paid company holidays 401(k) retirement plan with company match Uniform reimbursement A people-first organization focused on People, Passion, Purpose, and Progress Supportive and inspirational culture
