Job Description

Job Summary Certified Medical Assistant / Medical Front Desk Established Internal Medicine practice in Royal Oak is seeking a dependable, experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our small, patient-focused office. This is a combined clinical and front-office position. We are looking for someone who already has hands-on medical office experience and can confidently manage patient care responsibilities as well as front-desk operations. Current Medical Assistant certification is required and will be verified. Responsibilities Greet, check in and check out patients professionally Schedule appointments and maintain an accurate daily patient schedule Collect, scan and accurately enter insurance cards and patient information Verify insurance eligibility and benefits Collect copays, deductibles and outstanding patient balances Accurately accept, document and post patient payments Answer phones and communicate professionally and compassionately with patients Room patients and accurately obtain and document vital signs Recognize abnormal vital signs and promptly notify the physician according to office protocol Maintain accurate patient flow and ensure patients seen by the physician are properly accounted for Complete assigned front-office and clinical duties accurately and independently Follow through on responsibilities without repeated reminders Qualifications Current CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA or comparable recognized Medical Assistant certification —

Previous hands-on experience in a physician's office Experience with insurance eligibility and benefits verification Experience entering and updating insurance information Experience collecting and recording patient payments Experience taking and documenting vital signs Experience with electronic health record/practice-management systems Tebra/Kareo experience strongly preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and patient-service skills Professional, positive and cooperative attitude Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities Schedule Part-time, approximately 24-28 hours per week. Regular and dependable attendance during scheduled clinic hours is essential. This is an in-office position, and the successful candidate must be able to consistently work the required clinic schedule. Compensation $21-$24 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated competency. Starting compensation will be based on qualifications and demonstrated skills. Employees may be eligible for a wage review following successful training and performance evaluation.
