Duties Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out processes using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Collect patient information, verify insurance details, and perform intake procedures including vital signs and basic health assessments. Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as drawing blood (phlebotomy), administering medications, and recording medical documentation accurately. Maintain organized medical records, ensure compliance with ICD coding standards, and update patient charts promptly. Support front desk operations by answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling inquiries professionally. Prepare exam rooms and assist with minor procedures in dermatology, internal medicine, or urgent care settings. Ensure the safety of patients by adhering to basic life support (BLS) protocols and maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment. Qualifications Prior experience working in a medical office environment with knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices is a plus, however for the right candidate we are willing to train someone with little to no experience. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and familiarity with medical records management a plus. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred; additional certifications like phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and hospital medicine practices enhances your ability to succeed. Strong patient service skills with a friendly demeanor and excellent communication abilities. Ability to multitask efficiently in fast-paced settings such as dermatology clinics, urgent care centers, or hospital environments. Demonstrated understanding of medical assisting duties including vital signs collection, intake procedures, and basic clinical support.
