Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and managing intake documentation. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) to support patient care needs. Manage medical records by ensuring proper documentation of medical history, treatment plans, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and other essential records. Support administrative functions including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining organized medical files. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in outpatient clinics or inpatient units to provide seamless patient care across hospital or emergency medicine settings. Skills Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical assisting techniques. Proven experience working in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine environments with inpatient or outpatient settings. Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR/EHR systems), EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and hospital information systems. Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatrics. Ability to perform phlebotomy and medication administration accurately while adhering to safety protocols. Familiarity with ICD coding for accurate documentation and billing processes. Excellent organizational skills for managing medical records, documentation accuracy, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
