Job Description

Job Overview We is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work side-by-side with our providers to deliver exceptional patient care in a fast-paced dermatology practice. You will assist with medical and surgical dermatology procedures while ensuring accurate documentation, efficient patient flow, and an outstanding patient experience. Responsibilities Room patients efficiently and obtain accurate medical histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints. Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical and surgical dermatology procedures. Accurately document patient visits, diagnoses, treatment plans, and procedures in the electronic health record (EHR). Educate patients on diagnoses, medications, wound care, biopsy care, and treatment instructions. Process prescriptions, prior authorizations, referrals, laboratory orders, pathology reports, and imaging requests as directed. Prepare, clean, and stock exam and procedure rooms while maintaining OSHA and infection control standards. Assist with biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, injections, suture removal, and other dermatologic procedures. Review pathology and laboratory results with providers and assist in coordinating patient follow-up. Collaborate with providers and fellow team members to maintain efficient clinic flow and deliver exceptional patient care. Complete additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma/GED or equivalent Previous experience as a dermatology medical assistant or in a similar position preferred Ability to take detailed notes and accurate documentation Strong computer and transcription skills Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements Highly organized with excellent time-management skills Ability to work well under pressure
Pay:
$19.00 - $25.00 per hour
