Job Description
Allergy Technician - Allergy Testing, Injections & Immunotherapy Mixing Lung & Sleep Wellness Center Kernersville, NC Full-Time Join Our Patient-Focused Team! Lung & Sleep Wellness Center is looking for a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Allergy Technician to join our growing team in Kernersville, NC. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients and takes pride in providing safe, compassionate care. The Allergy Technician will be responsible for assisting with our allergy program, including administering allergy injections, performing allergy testing, and preparing/mixing allergen immunotherapy treatment vials. We are looking for someone who is organized, careful, and comfortable working in a busy medical office while making every patient feel welcome and cared for. What You'll Do
- Administer allergy immunotherapy injections according to provider orders and established protocols
- Prepare patients for allergy injections and testing
- Perform allergy skin testing as ordered and within applicable training and scope requirements
- Prepare and mix patient-specific allergen immunotherapy treatment vials according to prescribed formulas and established protocols
- Accurately measure allergen extracts and prepare prescribed dilutions
- Verify patient, vial, concentration, and dose information before administering injections
- Properly label, store, and track allergy treatment vials
- Monitor patients following allergy injections and testing
- Recognize potential allergic reactions and promptly obtain appropriate clinical assistance
- Document allergy injections, testing, reactions, and other relevant information in the patient's medical record
- Educate patients regarding allergy treatment schedules and reinforce provider instructions
- Maintain allergy supplies, inventory, refrigerator temperature logs, and expiration dates
- Keep allergy testing and mixing areas clean, organized, and properly stocked
- Communicate with providers regarding reactions, missed doses, treatment interruptions, or other concerns
- Follow established infection-control, patient-safety, and emergency procedures
- Assist the clinical team with additional duties as needed
- Perform other duties as required or assigned What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate is someone who is compassionate with patients and meticulous about the details. Because this position involves allergy injections and individualized treatment vials, attention to detail and following established protocols are extremely important. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, LPN, or similar clinical background preferred
- Previous allergy/immunology experience is a plus
- Experience administering injections preferred
- Experience with allergy testing and/or allergen immunotherapy mixing is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable working with needles and injections
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills
- Ability to follow detailed clinical protocols and provider orders
- Dependable, professional, and able to work well as part of a team
