Job Description

Blue Ridge Cardiology and Internal Medicine is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for a full-time position in our Internal Medicine Practice. Position will require employee to travel to Mount Airy 3 days a week and Elkin 2 days a week. Successful candidate will be experienced in rooming patients, proficient in checking vital signs, obtaining EKGs, administering injections, handling phone calls and assisting patients in an outpatient medical practice. Required:
Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries. Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization. Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the triage area. Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies. Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA at all times. Maintains operations by following all policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
Outpatient physician office experience required Excellent organizational, telephone and communication skills Excellent leadership and teamwork skills High school diploma or GED Must be able to work well with the public and provide excellent customer service Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a potentially stressful environment Ability to apply common sense understanding when carrying out detailed written or oral instructions Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective, and professional relationships with patients, providers, coworkers, and superiors Possess knowledge of office equipment and computer software programs Basic computer skills Maintains a positive attitude, willingness to work as a team, and a strong work ethic Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required
