$3,880 Position Summary We are hiring a Certified Pathologists' Assistant (PA) to support the Pathology department in the preparation and examination of surgical specimens and frozen sections. The Pathology Assistant will work under the supervision of a Pathologist and be responsible for accurate gross descriptions, specimen dissection, quality control, equipment maintenance, and supporting efficient pathology operations. Key Responsibilities Perform surgical specimen dissection ranging from simple to complex cases. Prepare quality specimens for routine histology and specialized testing. Perform frozen sections and maintain cryostat equipment. Dictate complete and accurate gross descriptions. Maintain accurate patient identification throughout specimen processing. Communicate effectively with pathologists, providers, and department staff. Maintain the grossing area, equipment, supplies, and morgue according to department standards. Perform quality control, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective actions as required. Follow CAP compliance standards and maintain appropriate procedure documentation. Recognize and address discrepancies in test results and specimen processing. Perform other duties as assigned to support patient care and department operations. Requirements ASCP Pathologists' Assistant Certification required prior to start date. Experience in Anatomic Pathology and surgical pathology. Strong knowledge of specimen handling, grossing, and frozen sections. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Pathologists and laboratory staff. EPIC experience preferred.
