About the
Job:
The Medical Assistant II is a vital member of the clinical team, responsible for supporting providers and nurses in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care. This role combines both clinical and administrative functions, ensuring a seamless experience for patients across in-person, phone, and telehealth encounters.
What You'll Do:
Assist with patient care under provider and RN supervision, including administering medications, immunizations, and point-of-care testing. Collect health histories, vital signs, and specimens; document findings in the medical record with accuracy. Communicate provider instructions and care plans to patients and families. Support pre-visit preparation by coordinating documentation, testing, and outreach. Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, medical records, and patient service duties. Serve as a mentor, role model, and resource for new staff and clinical team members. Adhere to infection control, safety, HIPAA, and organizational standards. Maintain current certifications and participate in ongoing professional development.
Who You Are:
Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program with clinical externship. Certified or registered Medical Assistant (AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT) with current BLS/CPR. Minimum of 2 years' experience as a clinical medical assistant (3+ years preferred). Skilled in specimen collection, medication administration, vital signs, Epic EMR, and medical office workflows. Strong communicator, adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to patient-centered care. Team-oriented with proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
